chiese/maurizio2.jpgIn maximum part the church of St.Maurizio at Major Monastery is a GianGiacomo’s Dolcebuono works, and finished by Solari. It was built in 1503, on an ancient church ruins annexed at the Monastery of Benedictines. The monastery was broadly demolished in 1799.
The façade is all dressed in Ornavasso’s grey stone and contrasts with inside decoration rich of golds and frescos.
The unique nave results bipartite between the environments destined to the claustral functions, the nuns’ choir, and those public, the laymen’s church. From Luini Street is accessed the choir, from Magenta Course is accessed to the church.
The church of St.Maurice is absolutely to visit: to enter to it is as to open a small casket.
The church is rich of frescos and pictures and to remain enchanted to admire so much artistic shine: the pictorial decoration of a church was ever married so happily with its architecture. Take you all time necessary to admire all is this beauty.

the Church offers another stupendous emotions: the roundels in the open gallery with the figures of Saints and Martyrs attributed to Giovanni Boltraffio.
